On 10th May 2017, Raul Hastié Castañe was denied the minimum sentence, the reason for the denial was an alleged lack of discipline that the citizen did not commit, and he was sentenced to 2 years in prison. However, on the 12th of the same month he was given 2 months off, for his good behaviour. According to the victim, these actions are part of a mishandled plot by the authorities through which he was denied his freedom. In 2019, the citizen served his sentence but continued in prison by order of prison chief Daniel Diaz Escobar. In addition, the victim denounces that the head of the pace center, Liuber Oro Martínez, and the head of the province's criminal control department, Ricardo Montesedin Nieve, are also against him.
