Lady in White detained when leaving her house

The Ladies in White, Tania Echevarría Menéndez and her niece Niala Puentes Batista, left their house in order to attend church as every Sunday. A police officer had already been waiting near their house, so they were immediately detained and instructed to get in the patrol car. Ramón de Armas, a political police officer who was also in the car, told Niala Puentes to get off the car since she was carrying her six-month-old baby. The patrol car left only with Tania. She was driven to a place outside the city known as Cooperativa. She was released at 12:30 pm.
