On 10 October, 2020, an activist from the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO), Willian Tamayo Ramayo, was detained in his house by State Security officials Willian and Roilan Roja, the head of the Confrontation Unit in the municipality of Guantánamo. The did not let him leave the house in order to prevent him from meeting other activists supporting the U.S. event, Caravana AntiComunista. He was also threatened by official Roilan Rojas, that if any posters appeared in Banes, he would be imprisoned.
