Man from Guantánamo detained for 10 days and prosecuted for disobedience



Bigmans Sarmientos Monjes was heading home. When he was passing through Santa Rita Street and Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue, he was detained by Captain Yordanis who is the head of the Police Council, and sector chief Odelin. The he was taken to the police unit called Parque 24 where he was kept for 10 days. He was then relased on bail amounting 1000 pesos and accused of disobedience because he allegedly had not show up for two official summons. On 5 September, the trial with Bigmans took place in the Popular Municipal Court. Based on the court decision, he was fined 2000 pesos.
