On 3 September, 2020, Bartolo Cantillo Romero, a coordinator of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) in Guantánamo, was summoned by secret police official Víctor Víctor to the Police Instruction Unit in Guantánamo. When he got to the unit which is also known as Operations, the secret police officer informed the activist that "he was using the Cuban radioelectric space in order to spread fake news and information against the Cuban government." Because of that, the police applied the Decree 370 and fined the activist 3000 pesos. The fine has to be paid in 15 days otherwise it will be doubled. If the person decides not to pay the fine, he or she is tacitly sentenced to one year in prison.
