Bartolo Cantillo Romero was detained by State Security officials (DSE) known as Edwin Jefferson or Kevin and Víctor Víctor. Bartolo was about to join the Sunday Mass which takes place in the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church. When he was walking down Los Maceos and 3 Sur Street, the above-mentioned officials stopped him and detained him. They put him in a patrol car 608 and drove him several times around the city. Then they took him to the second highway bridge where they kept him for about three hours. He was released at about 12 pm.
