Detained on her way to meeting on democracy

Arelis Rodriguez Silva, a human rights defensor and independent journalist, was going to participate in a meeting on democracy in Yelky Puig´s house. She was detained by the State Security official Reinaldo and Rapid Response Unit of the Ministry of Interior. Arelis was taken to the bus, where several detainees had already been waiting. She was insulted by the officials and she had to be taken the hospital due to her problems with blood pressure. She was released after 4 hours, far away from the place where the meeting was carried out.
