On Sunday, 7 July 2019, two human rights activists, between them Lady in White Celina Osoria Claro, were detained by the secret police in Guantánamo in order to prevent them from attending Sunday Mass in the Santa Catalina de Ricci Cathedral in this city. The detention was carried out by a crew of the Operational Guard no. 761. Celina was then driven to a remote place in the municipality of Manuel Tames and left on a solitary road. This was done on purpose to prevent her from making it back on time to attend the Mass, violating her right to freedom of movement and right to practice her religion.
