Activist travelling to the capital detained for a whole day

At 7:20 am, Nelson Acosta Ríos, accompanied by his two colleagues, was waiting at the boarding point in Jovellanos in order to get to Havana. At that moment, two law enforcement officers and a political police officer known as Dayron approached the group. They were instructed to walk with the officers to the police station. When arrived, they were placed in an office on the second floor. After a while, Acosta Ríos was taken to another place and the political police officer known as Darío and his colleagues proceeded to a check of his belongings. They confiscated his cell phone. When finished, Acosta Ríos asked for a copy of the record of proceedings, but the officers refused to give him any. According to the criminal law, he was entitled to get a detention record and to make a phone call, but nothing of those happened. He was released at 8:30 pm on the same day.
