On 4 June, 2021, Michel Álvarez Díaz, an activist from the Cuban Resistance Movement in the municipality of Batabanó, Mayabeque Province, was leaving his house. When he was already on the street, he was intercepted by the State Security. Without presenting any formal summons, the officials detained him and took him to the police station in the municipality. While being detained, Robles Pérez was beaten up.
