Human rights activist detained in Guantánamo



An UNPACU activist Giorvis Chivas Castillo was going to Santiago de Cuba Province to participate in a protest march demanding the release of political prisoners and the end of political repression. At the checkpoint in Cayamo, he was detained by police and State Security officials. The activists in the bus started protesting against the detention and expressed the opinion that it had been carried out without any reason. The detention turned violent and all activists were taken to the police station. They were released several hours later.
