Beaten up by the State Security and taken to the hospital



On December 6, 2015, an activist Bartolo Cantillo Romero was going to Santiago de Cuba to attend Mass in the Santuario del Cobre, when he was suddenly attacked in Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue and San Gregorio Street by Anti-Riot Police and the State Security officials. He was beaten up and taken to one of the State Security units and later to the Police Department in Niceto Pérez. He had to be taken and admitted in the hospital in Guantánamo. He stayed for about 24 hours in the observation unit. There were visible bruises on his face and body.
