Human rights activist detained while heading to the UNPACU Headquarters



Rafael Puentes Creme was on his way to the headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) - an organization he belongs to in the Santiago de Cuba Province. When he was passing through a checkpoint located in the municipality Río Frío, the police stopped the vehicle he was travelling in and he had to get off. He was then taken to the police unit called Paruqe 24, where the State Security official known as Gamboa told him that he could not travel to Santiago de Cuba. He was released on the next day at about 4 pm without any further consequences.
