Yelky Puig Rodriguez, lawyer and political leader, was on his way to Havana, where was going to attend a meeting carried out in cooperation with young activists from all Cuban provinces. At 3 am, he was detained in the bus terminal in Pinar del Río. The detention was conducted by State Security officials. Lieutenant colonel Beune along with Captain Juan Pérez put him into the car and drove him to his house, where he was kept until 9 am, without a possibility of going out. Yelky was also warned, that if he did not follow the State Security instructions, he would be prosecuted for disobedience.
