State agents detain human rights activist



On May 1st, human rights activist Ibraili Corea Betancourt was summoned by a state security officer known as Calviño to appear in Hector Infante's National Revolutionary Police sector at 8 a.m. He called state security, and according to the sector chief, was given a detention order until the officers who were ordered to attend to him arrived. Ten hours passed and no one arrived until he became upset and began to demonstrate against the system. In response, the sector chief made a call to state security and was given the order to release him at 6 p.m.
