On July 11, 2021, Herrada stepped out into the streets to join the rest of the people of Caibarién. He joined the shouts of slogans such as Libertad, Patria y Vida (Freedom, Homeland and Life). On July 17 he was taken from his house and taken away for several days.
The prosecutor's request was for 4 years of imprisonment for the crimes of Public Disorder, two of Attempt and one of Disrespect. He was finally sentenced to 3 years and 6 months, a decision that was unsuccessfully appealed by Herrada.
