Faced with a lack of cigarettes in Bayamo, a citizen traveled to Holguin to buy some boxes for a prisoner who is a friend of his. Upon returning to Bayamo, the car in which he was traveling was stopped at the checkpoint and when he checked his belongings, he was taken to the Cacocún police station, where after being interrogated for almost two hours, they proceeded to confiscate 13 packs of Aromas brand soft cigarettes (Equivalent to $1,300 Cuban pesos (€41), under the allegation of hoarding. He was also fined $200 pesos (€6), before being released.
