Santiago Gamez Palma detained for denouncing corruption

Since 2010 Santiago Gamez Palma was assigned a plot of land, but it still had not been given to him, so on the 28th of July he went to the inspector Meibel so she could explain what he should do so that they would give him his land. She told him to give her 50 CUC and she would finish the process and they would give him the land. The next day Palma went to the inspection body where she was to accuse her of corruption, but Meibel said that he had threatened her and called the police. They arrested him and took him to the police station number 24. He was there until the 1st of August, where he was mistreated physically, pushed and beaten.
