Activist put under house arrest and publicly humiliated by state agents



On August 8, a Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) activist, Víctor Martín was threatened by a Department of State Security (DSE) officer, captain Neuri Durán Pajan, and the captain of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), Gianny Clape Rodríguez, with arrest if he dared to leave his house. As a result, the activist could not move from his home until late Thursday afternoon, the 13th. If he dared to leave, he would be prosecuted for the crime of contempt and disobedience. The activist was threatened in the middle of the public street by both officers in front of his neighbors.
