Eider Frometa Allen, a political prisoner in the Kilo 8 Prison, went on a hunger strike in commemoration of 11J, to demand the end of paramilitarism in the prison and to demand good medical attention. As consequence, he was taken to the punishment cell and, in addition, when he was being taken back to Detachment 5, where he normally lives with 8 other prisoners, the paramilitaries Yuliesky Abreu Quesada and Ariel López were waiting to attack him. The reason why the assault could not be carried out was because other prisoners intervened.
