Houses of the human rights activists closely monitored during a high-level visit in Guantánamo

On 28 and 29 November 2019, several houses all belonging to human rights defenders were surrounded by the Guantánamo secret police. These houses were under surveillance and closely followed due to a governmental visit to Guantánamo Province consisting of the Cuban president, several ministers and members of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC). All the human rights defenders and activists were under visible surveillance and monitored. In the house of one of the activists, Celina Osoria Claro, a patrol car was parked in a way that she was prevented from leaving her house and not even able to go shopping for some food. This treatment was violating her right to free movement.
