Elderly Hurricane Ike victim still waiting for her house to be rebuilt

On 7th September 7 2007, Rédenta Barallobre Sablón's house collapsed completely due to Hurricane Ike. On 26th August 2013, a housing rehabilitation project for total collapse was made, it was approved by the department of architecture of the community and delivered to the Construction Company of Works of the Popular Power (ECOPP) in time and form. The construction plan has never been fulfilled because the budget and the materials stipulated have not been delivered and all the steps taken with state agencies have been unsuccessful. In December 2018, Walter Marrero Ballester, accompanied by the director Napoles of the ECOPP, visited the house and stated that in January 2019 Mrs. Barallobre's house would be among those to be rehabilitated. However, the official Javieski Valentín Sablón responded to the letter sent to him on 6th March 2019, informing him of the error made that year and assuring him that in 2020 under his mandate it would be rectified. The victim considers that all of them have been an apparatus of disorder for her since, at her advanced age (87 years), she has had to live this painful situation full of deceit, this has produced insomnia and loss of appetite.
