On October 11, several members of UNPACU in Guantanamo were detained on their way to Santiago de Cuba. They were going to the morning Mass organized by the UNPACU in order to discuss illegal house searching, taking of equipment and arbitrary arrests made by the police to the members of the organization.
Manuel de Jesús Albial Hodelín was going to the mass at 4 am. He was detained by the riot squad. He was beaten and driven to the police unit Salvador, where they threatened him with death and 10 years long imprisonment. At 12 am, they let him go.
