UNPACU Activists Detained for Writing Graffiti

Along with other activists of the UNPACU, Alexander Verdecia Rodríguez was writing graffiti on one of the streets of Bayamo. The graffiti called for people's rights: For fair wages, decent housing, no to violence, the release of political prisoners, no to hunger. Three officers of the national police arrived and beat them. The officers then pushed them in a patrol car, which took them to the PNR of Bayamo. In the PNR, the activist was locked in an office. Hours later agent Rondon of the political police arrived and began to give him death threats. Seeing that it was not easy to intimidate him, the agent left. In the end, another agent gave him a fine for disturbing the peace and threatening the government.
