Rubislandy Ávila González is a human rights activist and a member of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU). On 30 September 2015, he participated in a protest march carried out to support his colleagues who had been detained earlier that day. When the event was over, was detained and beaten up by political police officers. After that he was put by force into a bus and driven outside the city.
