Activist detained and kept in a prison cell for several hours



Reinael García Perdomo was going to attend an activity organized by one of the delegates of Cuban Revolutionary Party. When he was on his way, he was stopped by police and Rapid Response Unit officers who belong to secret police. They asked him whether he was going to participate in the counterrevolutionary activity and the victim told them, that he was going to attend an event organized in support of human rights. In that moment, he was handcuffed and taken to the police station. The officers then started interrogating him, asking him who gave him the instructions and why he was coopreating with the organization when the opposition was over and the only thing it could bring him was imprisonment. The victim didn´t answer none of these questions. After that, he was put by force in a prison cell and labelled traitor and mercenary. He was kept there for several hours until a secret police officer came to tell him he can go. While leaving, the vicitm was told that if he continued his activity, he would suffer the consequences.
