Woman detained and interrogated for a political activism of her parents

Yesenia Rangel Burunate lives together with her parents, husband and son. On that day in the morning hours, their house was thoroughly searched. When the family opened the door, several stout men belonging to the Boinas Negras (Black Berets) with rifles in their hands were already waiting in front of his house. When the search was finished, they put Yesenia's father Francisco Rangel in the patrol car. When they were doing the same with her mother, Regla Burunate, Yesenia started yelling in order to defend her mother. After that, the Boinas Negras put Yesenia Rangel in the same patrol car as her mother. There was a military woman from the Boinas Negras in the car and she slapped strongly in Yesenia's face whenever she protested against how her mother was treated. Finally they arrived to the police station and Yesenia was put on a spot for parking bicycles along with her mother. All the time, they were under constant watch of the military women who were threatening them to beat them again if they started complaining. Before being released, Yesenia was interrogated by an official known as Lieutenant Colonel Ramón Richard David. At the end of the interrogation, Yesenia clearly explained that she was not a part of the opposition, but she would stay by her parents until the end. According to the instruction of an offcial known as Claudia, she was given an official warning which she did not sign. She was relased at 4 pm.
