An activist from Baracoa intimidated by police and State Security

An activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Roberto González Pelegrín, was a victim of intimidation and threats made by State Security (DSE) and the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) officials, Alfredo Oliveros and Midelsi Durán Campo. Those officials tried to create a provocative situation which would allow them to detain González Pelegrín for a crime of disturbance of public order. When the officials saw that the activist was not reacting on their insults, they told him he would not avoid the prison anyway and that his cell was ready. They also told him that they would not allow him to provoke unrest among the youth because they knew that it was him who was responsible for all the anti-government posters which had appeared in the city.
