Human rights activist is arrested and violently attacked by State Security officials while participating in an anti-government protest march.



Human rights activist Yoandris was abruptly detained while participating in a massive anti-government protest march. He was immobilized by a State Security agent, who used strangulation and restraint techniques and violently threw him to the ground on several occasions while continuing to hold him down. The activist was beaten and kicked several times by a rapid response group sent by the regime to break up the demonstration. After these events, which exceeded half an hour, the victim managed to free himself from his attackers and leave the place. Among the injuries that remained were several bruises and scratches on the skin, stabbing pain in the thoracic area and head, swollen face, and a medium-sized wound and inflammation in the right foot and leg.
