On 9th October, the human rights defender was summoned by the Capitan Adolfo from the State Security Departament (DSE). When the defender was at the police station, the Capitan threatened him and ordered his imprisonment for 9 hours. Before his release, he was sanctioned with a $2.000 cuban pesos (39€) fine. The detention came because of his participation in a pacific protest of several members of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) claiming for the freedom of the human rights defender Tomás Nuñez Magdariaga, who had been in a hunger strike since august 14, for being subjected to a trial orchestrated by the DSE.
