Luis Alfredo Pérez Pajan, an activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), was detained on public roads on his way home by state security officers, Major Alfredo Oliveros and PNR officer Gianny Clape. They threatened to arrange a beating for him if Mr. Perez continued to disturb public order and to place posters on his bicycle cab with phrases such as "Patria y Vida" (Homeland and Life). Major Oliveros also told him that they had already prepared his cell at the Combinado de Guantánamo prison.
