Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO) activist Ryder Matos Gainza was insulted in the middle of the street by the President of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the area known as "la punta", located at 10 Flower Street. The activist was walking down that street when Mrs. Ana Luisa Zúñiga came out of her house and started yelling all kinds of insults and threats at the activist. The activist responded by saying that he was not going to give in to these provocations. At that moment, National Revolutionary Police (PNR) lieutenant Feyo Nicle Hernández was leaving the same house. According to the victim, he has a long history of human rights violations ranging from beatings to psychological physical abuse, not only against human rights activists, but also against the population in general. When the activist saw how complicated the situation was, he left trying to avoid the mob that was joining the place, some were joining the act of repudiation that had been prepared against him and another party was only as observers. Some of the people who were shouting insults at him were also throwing stones at him, but the activist managed to leave without suffering any further damage.
