Niober was on his way to the municipality of Jamaica in La Habana Province in order to attend a training about economy and environment. He was detained at the military checkpoint in the Camagüey Province by several police officers and State Security officials (DSE). At about 12pm, he was taken to the police station and from here at about 2 pm, Captain Elmer, who is the Chief of the Emigration Department in Guantanamo, transported him in his Lada car to the DSE Detention Center known as Operaciones. Niober was interrogated by a Major known as Sergio, a Captain known as Kevin or Jeffereson and a DSE officer known as Victor. Two first of them are members of a special deparment prosecuting the opposition in Guantanamo. The officials told him that he has only one year left at liberty since they gave him one year and half. They threatened him with imprisonment for espionage. They told Niober that the telecommunication company ETECSA already gave them a transcription of two phone calls which Niober received from Lali Samper, a counterrevolutionary from Cuban-American Foundation and according to them, she asked him for the information about the Cuban military. Niober was released on March 29 at about 12 pm. He was given an official warning saying that he forwarded information about the Cuban military and was spreading fake news discrupting the international peace. Niober refused to sign the document. The officers confiscated him his Samsung cell phone, 1300 CUP, 30 CUC, his passport and banned him from leaving his province.
