Human rights activist detained and prevented from travelling to the UNPACU headquarters

On 10 December 2014, Bartolo Cantillo Romero was about to go to the city of Guantánamo and to join a celebration of the International Human Rights Day which was planned to be held in the headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), the organization Bartolo belongs to. When he arrived to the bus stop in Manuel Tames, he was approached by two policemen who asked him for his ID. Then they told him to accompany them. When the victim asked about the reason for the detention, he was pushed to the ground, handcuffed and put in a patrol car. He was then driven to the police station.
