On December 9, 2020, in the afternoon, the activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), Miguel Caballero López, was threatened by mayor and head of sector, Brian Torres Hurjelles. When this officer was passing the street where the activist lives, Coroneles Galano street, he saw that the activist was holding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). He approached him and told him that if he saw him distributing the Declaration in the streets, he was going to have him arrested. The activist responded by asking if it was a crime to hold the UDHR in his hands because he was seeing and hearing on radio and television that the government was talking about the International Human Rights Day. The officer replied saying that he did not say that the activist could not hold it, but rather could not distribute it on the streets. It is a lack of respect by the Cuban government towards its people if it prohibits divulgation of the UDHR on International Human Rights Day.
