Activist Angel Frometa convicted for allegedly participating in anti-government signs



On 12th February 12, the activist Ángel Frometa Lovaina was arrested in front of the central park of the municipality of San Antonio del Sur. The cause of the detention was that he had allegedly been the mastermind of anti-government signs that had appeared on some walls in several places in the city. The activist was arrested and taken to the police unit where he remained until 16th February of the same year, when he was taken to the municipal court. He was put on a summary trial in which he was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in the combined provincial prison of Guantánamo for the crimes of disobedience and public disorder.
