An activist falsely arrested for plotting against the government

On December 10th, National Revolutionary Police (PNR) officers accompanied by a civilian stormed into Vidal Sallas's house without any authorization. While searching the house, the officers hurriedly spilled sacks of flour and behaved in an unacceptable manner. They had received a complaint that Vidal Sallas possessed anti-government resources, but the officers did not find anything in his house. Sallas Vidal was then taken to the PNR station where he was held for 72 hours. He met with the Deputy CI Arzuaga and the civilian who was present at the registration. Arzuga accused him of plotting against the government but Sallas Vidal explained that he had, in fact, just recently begun to deal with the government's abuses towards the people. The officials responded by threatening to close his pizzeria which was the primary source of income for his family. They released him after giving him a warning letter. However, since then they have conducted multiple inspections and have increased their brutality towards him. He has approached and pleaded for help to the Municipal Labor and Social Security several times but his pleas have always gone unanswered.
