Ladies in white member was arrested violently on February 23, 2014, by agents of the Department of State Security and the National Revolutionary Police at leaving her home to prevent her from participating in a Mass in the Santa Rita de Casia Church neighborhood of Miramar, Playa municipality, she was beaten and abused by the military at the time of the arrest. She was held being denied communication with her family for several hours. She has been threatened on several occasions with trial under the alleged crimes of contempt and arrest resistance.
