Roxilene Sotolongo was detained and beaten when she was leaving the Headquarters of the Ladies in White. She was detained by the combined forces consisting of the State Security officials, National Revolutionary Police (PNR), Special Brigade of the PNR, members of the Rapid Response Brigades and the Communist Party, to prevent her from attending the Mass at the Santa Rita de Casia church.
