Activist Mirna Torren Mayeta was detained, interrogated and threatened by state agents



In the morning on 9th December, 2017, the activist Mirna Torren Mayeta was arrested while she was talking about the International Human Rights Day in Guantanamo Park. The activist was explaining to several local acquaintances about the importance of that day for the entire world when multiple State Security Department (DSE) officers accompanied by two National Revolutionary Police (PNR) officers appeared and arrested her. The officers took her to the PNR unit where she was held for over 34 hours incommunicado until she was released on 11th December at 4 pm, after being interrogated and threatened with imprisonment if she continued to speak to people against the revolution. Prior to her release she also issued a warning for inciting disorder and disobedience.
