Activist accused of distribution of political posters and fined



Bartolo Cantillo Romero was detained by the State Security (DSE) official known as Edwin Jefferson or Kevin together with two other policemen without identification when walking down the Calixto García Street and La Avenida in Guantánamo. He was taken to the DSE detention center known as Operations. There, the DSE official Leonis along with Kevin fined him 150 pesos in CUP and accused him of distributing posters calling for the release of the activist José Daniel Ferrer and promoting anti-government slogans. He was released at about 8 am on the next day without any further consequences.
