Government opposition faces months in prison and extreme surveillance

The victim along with his colleagues from his movement, Justo Tamayo Viamonte, Rafael Rojas Viamonte and Fernando Vega Capote, were arrested in Pedernales, Holguín. They confiscated banners in their homes with the slogan "less politics + people" and a spray used to paint anti-government slogans. The victim was released after three months, being sentenced one to three years in prison for conspiracy. The authorities heavily supervised Annalie Douconger Pruna, wife of one of the members. The mother of Justo Tamayo, a doctor by profession, could not make any statement because all the families were threatened. The victim says that from this detention, he feels suffocated because he is heavily guarded and has his phone tapped.
