As every Sunday, Maria de las Mercedes Balvier Esteel was heading to the Mass in the church of Santa Rita de Cassia. When she came to the park José Martí where the church is located she was detained. They put her into the patrol car no. 605, they were driving her around the city until the Mass ended. After 2 hours, they released her on the road of El Salvador.
Maria, Lady in White, has been threatened on several occasions for her activism.
