In the morning, 16 May 2020, Rafael Puente Creme, a human rights activist and a member of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was summoned to a unit prosecuting crimes against security of the State, located on the El Salvador highway. There he was detained until the arrival of Major Kevin, a State Security official well-known for his methods and for beating the human rights activists. During the interrogation, Kevin threatened Rafael with imprisonment and told him to be careful as he can be anytime beaten up. Moreover, Kevin threatened him with hiring a hitman. Then the officials issued an official warning for Rafael for being in touch with counterrevolutionary elements and for spread of epidemic since he had met with several people in his house. Rafael was released at 6 pm on the same day.
