Human rights defender detained for 3 days by State Security

Bartolo was detained by State Security officials (DSE) known as Edwin Jefferson and Luis Angel or Roberto in the Pedro Pérez Street and La Avenida. This happened when he was on his way to the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church in order to attend the Mass and to pray for the political prisoners. After his detention, he was driven to the police unit in the municipality of El Salvador. There, the State Security official Kevin told him that he is just showing off, posting the videos and photos of anti-government actions on the social media and that he will take care of getting him to the prison. He was realesed at about 8 am on the 28 August, without any further consequences.
