Threats of prison for political activism considered as counterrevolutionary



On the 12th of June, the captain and chief of the sector, Midelsi Durán Campo, went to the house of Francisco Luis Manzanet Ortíz, in order to give him an official subpoena to show up at the sector, prior warning of sanctions in case of not attending. Manzanet Ortíz showed up to the aforementioned sector, there were the Captain Durán Campo and two social workers waiting for him. Captain Durán Campo told him that he would not allow any kind of counterrevolutionary activity in his jurisdiction and that it could be a reason to send him to prison because such activities were illegal and they would not allow them. Before the activist left the place, Captain Durán Campo gave him an official warning in order to sign it, however, despite the activist refused to sign such a document, Captain Durán Campo, along with the two social workers, signed it.
