Yoanny Beltrán Gamboa was going to Santiago de Cuba to participate in Mass and protest march which were being conducted to demand the release of political prisoners and the end of political repression against human rights defenders and society in general in Cuba. At 6:40, he was detained by State Security officials along with more than 10 activists in 1 Sur and San Lino street. They were all handcuffed, pushed into the bus and driven more than 80 km away from the city to Cajobabo zone. The detention was instructed by State Security official known as Bryan or also Morgan.
