Guantanamo resident lives in inadequate conditions after her home collapsed.

On October 4, 2013, a warehouse located in Aguilera on the corner of Agramontés in the province of Guantánamo collapsed and affected the home of Berta Caballero. Her home was partially collapsed by 50%. Berta Caballero, a 60 years old woman, retired in 2002, lives with a low income and suffers from several health problems. Caballero Vaillant was transferred by the Provincial and Municipal People's Power to an old sanatorium for HIV patients, located in Luz Caballero and 17 south. Berta Caballero was placed in this sanatorium for a period of 1 year when she was only promised that her stay would be ten days. A group from the municipal Construction and Maintenance Company (ECOM), led by Omar Chivas, was left in charge of Caballero Vaillan's home. After Berta Caballeros returned to her home, her house was found in uninhabitable conditions which affected her health and she was deprived of an adequate standard of living. After several requests, the demands of Berta Caballeros have been ignored.
