Ivo was detained, beaten, threatened and his pants were pulled down

Around 3 am, Ivo was heading to the terminal of the municipality of his residence in order to continue to Havana for reasons of an interview in Refugee Office. Hotel Jesus Menendez was full of agents of the State Security led by major Idelgradez Quintero. Captain Avila of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) was present within the repressive forces. Ivo was arbitrarily detained by the officers of the PNR that did not show their identification and the arrest warrant issued by the court. He was handcuffed, they took his bag by force and treated him badly. He was taken by walk to the police unit. There, Ivan opposed them when they were about to search his bag. They held him tightly pulling him against a chair. They wanted to keep all the documentation of the interview that they found in the bag, including the evidence of attempted murder of his spouse in the Hospital Guillermo Dominguez in municipality Puerto Padre. When Ivo warned them that he would start a hunger strike, they gave him everything back. They pulled violently his pants down to check if he was not recording and they tortured him physically and psychologically. They remembered him as threat that he had four year old daughter. The detention procedure was violated. He was detained for 2 hours and then he could continue his trip to Havana.
