Activist Faces Ineffective Judicial Protection

The delegate of Way called William has repeatedly threatened the activist Licet Maria Santos Moreno. One day when Licet was at home, the delegate was thinking of making a prank. He soon began disseminating that Licet had put a sign; he did so in order to provoke her. Then he started threatening her friends and family. He insulted the activist's grandmother and told her he was going to hurt her granddaughter. At the end, he approached Licet and gave her a punch in the chest, hurting her with nails and threw her on the floor. Afterwards agent Ferro of the political police arrived, blaming Licet for disturbing the peace. The next day the activist went to the PNR to press relevant charges. Licet communicated with the police chief named Pedro. She defended herself and said that everything would go on trial due to the assault by the delegate William. However, nothings changed, the repressions and threats continued. Moreover, the national police has not done anything with the case.
